Reference: Body Systems

Notes
made by Marisa

Circulatory System
The circulatory system carries oxygen (hemoglobin in red blood cells carries O2) and nutrients to the cells all over the body and carries carbon dioxide and waste away from the cells.
Respiratory System
The respiratory system brings oxygen (O2) into the body and sends carbon dioxide (CO2) out of the body.
Digestive System
The digestive system breaks down food and adsorbs nutrients for the body. It is aided by bacteria that live in the intestines and help break down complex nutrients.
Nervous System
The nervous system collects and stores information from inside and outside the body. It controls the body's actions and its responses to any changes. All five senses are part  of the nervous system.
Skeletal System
The skeletal system gives your body structure and protects your internal organs. It stores minerals and produces blood cells in the bone marrow.
Muscular System
The muscular system is responsible for all of the body's movements, both voluntary (jumping, chewing, walking, etc.) and involuntary (breathing, stomach churning, etc.).
Endocrine System
The endocrine system produces chemical messengers called hormones that help maintain homeostasis and control growth and development.
Integumentary System
The integumentary system is your skin. It serves as a protective barrier around your body preventing water loss and helping to control body temperature.
Immune System
The immune system is made of antibodies and white blood cells that protect your body from infection. HIV attacks a special type of white blood cell known as the Helper T cell.
Reproductive System
The reproductive system produces the gamete cells required for sexual reproduction. The male cells are known as sperm and the female gamete cells are known as eggs.
Excretory System
The excretory system removes waste from the body and helps the body maintains homeostasis by preventing the buildup of excess fluid and solid material within the body.

Even though I took HTML and Dreamweaver, this was so tedious!
Hope this helps!

Glogster: United States

I made this glog for history class. My partner decide she wanted to make the poster of Venezuela; either way I don't care, as long as I keep my 100% in this class.

Glogster: Sophie Scholl

This one is for German class; make a poster or should I say glog, about a German person.

Idol group members get an average of 16s of singing time

Idol group members get an average of 16s of singing time

by Casper on July 13, 2010 @ 7:30 AM (EDT) ·

DongA Ilbo recently did a study about the duration that idol group members get during their music show performances and their results show that they each get an average of 16s.
The study which was released on the 13th, was based on research done on Music Core (July 10th), Inkigayo (July 11th) and Music Bank (June 25th) on 7 idol groups (SNSD, Super Junior, 4minute, After School, Infinite, f(x), MBLAQ), and the duration of singing time that each member got. The average length of their songs came to around 3m 30s, and if you subtract their harmonization, each member sings just 16s on average.
The shortest length average song belonged to SNSD’s Oh! whose members get an average of 9.4s. Leader Taeyeon had the longest duration lasting 22s. Maknae Seohyun had the shortest though, with just 5s. Her two lines were “Hey oppa look at me, just take a look at me,” and “Oppa, just listen to me.”
As for After School’s Bang!, their members Nana and Lizzy had no solo parts at all. Their lines together with the other members amounted to just 8s.
While for Infinite’s Come Back Again, the main bulk of the song fell on leader, Seong Kyu who had 29s. But Seong Jong, Seong Yeol and L only had 1s, 3s and 4s of solos respectively. Seong Jong only had “It’s all a lie” while Seong Yeol sang just “I feel like dying and my head hurts.”
Critics point out that there are more and more instance of idol groups like this where members get just a few short lines. Although they are weak vocally, they make up for it with their looks and talking ability and thus accorded their privileges as “singers.”
Music critic, Im Jin Ho expressed, “If they each only have just a few seconds, they will definitely neglect their primary duty as a singer and skim on improving their vocals. Members who don’t sing a lot will also develop a feeling of being ostracized and this will affect the overall performance of the group, shortening the group’s lifespan.”
Another critic, Kim Jak Ga said, “Examples of idol groups not putting in effort with their vocals are increasing by the minute and there’s noticeably less breathing space for the ones who have real talent and vocals to survive now.”

Catcher in the Rye Collage

This was one of my assignments for english class. We had to made a collage and describe what it represents. Here is what I said
"The dark Shadow means Holden is lonelyness and depression, the gun in his hand means he emotionally unstable. The red bubbly background represents his anger/violent outbursts, while the wheat is rye. The geese represents his child-like behavior. The hat is exaggeration."
